Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why should I use a travel agent?

A.
Planning a vacation can be confusing, overwhelming and certainly time-consuming. A travel consultant not only has the ability to arrange a wide variety of things (and has access to a number of non-public booking systems), but also may be able to save you money with early booking discounts, special fares, etc...

Q.
Why should I choose you to be my travel agent?

A. My wish is for you to be free
from the stress of travel research and planning.  I realize that there is no shortage of "do-it-yourself" travel websites out there but I like to think that I can provide a personalized type of service that they cannot.  I have a wonderful team of support at my host agency and can provide assistance with just about anything related to travel - hotels, cruises, vacation packages, all-inclusive resorts, airline ticketing, rental cars, insurance protection, passport applications and other domestic and foreign travel requirements.  I can be reached 24 hours/day 7 days/week via telephone, e-mail, text message or instant message (TravelNicholas on Yahoo IM).

Q.
What do you charge?

A. Allowing me to research and book your travel costs you nothing!  I am paid by vendors and suppliers for the travel I book with them.  The only service I charge a handling fee for is air-only airline tickets
.  My fee is a very reasonable $20 per ticket purchased.  I do not charge a fee for airline tickets when other travel (hotel, rental car, cruise etc.) is booked through me simultaneously.

Q. When should I book my trip?

A. I suggest booking a trip as early as possible.  Rates tend to go up over time - not down.  In general, I believe that the earlier you book, the better.  If a rate or fare is lowered and I am able to adjust the reservation without penalty
, I will happily do so.  Conversely - there are often last minute deals to be found as well.  If you can travel at short notice, this option might be something you consider.

Q.
Do I have to pay for my trip in full?

A. Usually, a deposit will hold your vacation plans for you unless your departure date is within 30-45 days in which case payment in full may be necessary.

Q.
How should I pay for my vacation?

A.
Using a credit card is the simplest way to pay.

Q.
What type of documents do I need to travel?

A. At the very least, all passengers 18 and older to present valid and unexpired government-issued photo identification (federal, state or local) - a driver's license, for example.  For international travel, the minimu you will be required to have is a valid passport.  Policies regarding this are changing all of the time and I recommend you view the
U.S. Department of State website for up-to-date information.  I will work with you to ensure that you have what you need for your travel destination.

Q. Is insurance for my vacation necessary
?

A.
I always
recommend it. Information on trip insurance will be provided at the time of booking. If insurance is declined, I may ask you to sign a waiver stating that you understand the consequences of declining.
